Acknowledge Differing Points of View

Sometimes students hesitate to include differing points of view in their paper because they fear it will weaken their thesis. Quite the contrary! Presenting and discussing differing points of view will make your paper stronger.

Remember that the A in the BEAM / BEAT model stands for argument. It includes more than just published opinions that you agree with; it also includes opinions that you dispute or argue against (often by presenting exhibits or evidence from your research).
